P[atrick], son of Earl P[atrick] (I) of Dunbar acknowledges receipt from the prior of Coldingham at the Vigil of St Thomas the Martyr, 29 Dec. 1231, of 40 marks sterling of the 200 marks owed him for the quitclaim he made of the demesne land and villa of Swinwood (BWK) with all pertinents. The 40 marks were owed to him at the Feast of the Purification (2 Feb.) that year.
