William of Landells, for the salvation of himself, his wife and all his ancestors and successors, has given, granted and made firm by this his present charter to Melrose Abbey all that land in the feu of Hownam (ROX) which is called ‘Brunecnolleflat’ by stated bounds. (damaged)
