Affrica daughter of Edgar, for the soul of her lord, William, king of Scots, and others, has given and granted and established by her present charter, to Melrose Abbey one quarter part of a full villa in the territory of Dunscore (DMF), namely, between a certain burn and which is called ‘Pollelogan’ and ‘Darcungal’ (later Holywood, DMF), by its right bounds, in pure and perpetual alms, with all its liberties and easements that pertain to a librate of land.
