William de Vescy has granted and by this his charter established, for the salvation of himself and for the salvation of all his ancestors and successors, to Melrose Abbey those two ploughgates of land, one of which Patrick of Ryedale gave to them and the other, Walter, his son, in the territory of Lilliesleaf (ROX) with its pasture and pertinents by the same bounds which are contained in the charters of Patrick and Walter, his son, in free, pure and perpetual alms, with all its easements and liberties, save to him and his heirs the service pertaining to the lands of Patrick, Walter and his heirs.
