Thomas de Coleville has granted, given, and by his charter established, to Vaudey Abbey, for the souls of David, Malcolm and William, kings of Scots, that part of Dalmellington (AYR), called ‘Keresban’, which he has by stated marches, for an annual render of five marks, at two terms for all service, custom and secular demand, that is, two and a half marks at Martinmas and two and a half at Pentecost. . If it happens that the king of Scotland wishes to relax or give away the said ferme, Thomas and his heirs will grant that freely.
