John son of Philip of Maxton, in the court of his lord, John de Normanville, spontaneously and without any pressure, has quitclaimed all right which he had in the land which J, his lord, gave to the monks of Melrose in the territory of Maxton (ROX), namely that common pasture and the other common easements which he and his heirs have seized in the same land.
