Description (from People of Medieval Scotland)
An agreement has been formed between the monks of Melrose and Robert of Stenton concerning the marches between Stenton (ELO) and the grange of Hartside (ELO), by the consideration of good men and the consent and assent of both parties, by stated bounds. Robert has quitclaimed whatever rights he had beyond these marches towards Hartside. The monks quitclaimed all right that they had beyond these marches towards Stenton.
