W[alter?], master of the nuns of Haddington, sub-delegate of the abbot of Dunfermline, and D[avid], vicar of Haddington, sub-delegate of the abbot of Holyrood, papal judges-delegate, settle the controversy between the prior and convent of Coldingham and Robert Buring, summoned by Coldingham before them by apostolic authority in a case about certain land located in Haddington (ELO), which W[illiam], king of Scots, had granted to their church in free, pure and perpetual alms, and which the same Robert detained unjustly to their injury. On the day assigned to the parties, with the prior and convent appearing through their procurator and Robert appearing in person, the said Robert yielded the suit and confessed that he did not have any right in that land, nor had at any time, and if he should have it or had had it previously, he renounced it in full before them and quitclaimed to the prior, and promising not to trouble him concerning that land, subjecting himself to the jurisdiction of the judges and giving them power to act against him if he should presume to go against the quitclaim in future.
