Thomas son of Gilbert son of Laysing of Lessudden has released at feuferme to the porter of Melrose and his successors, whomever he may be at the time, in perpetuity all his land, namely ten acres which he held in the territory of Elliston (ROX) which his father bought from John, lord of Elliston. The porter and his successors are to return to him and his heirs every year one penny or one pair of gloves and one pound of wax to Dryburgh Abbey during the fair of Roxburgh.
