Alexander of Stirling gives notice that when David, bishop of St Andrews, with the consent of the prior and convent of St Andrews, for the augmentation of the worship of God and at his own request, had granted a chantry to his chapel at Lauriston (KCD), that the mother church of Egglisgrig (St Cyrus, KCD) should not suffer any want from such a grant, he faithfully promised that he and his heirs will honestly cause to be paid out the proper expenses to the said chapel, and he shall cause all obventions or oblations coming to the said chapel to be delivered to the said mother church of Egglisgrig, keeping it without loss in all things. The chaplain who shall minister at the said chapel, before he celebrate the sacrament there, shall take an oath of fealty to the said mother church. And as acknowledgement of submission, he and his heirs every year for ever on the Fair of Montrose (ANG) shall pay one pound of wax.
