A[ndrew], archdeacon, and the clerics of Lothian, with counsel and assent, have taken part in and rendered their consent and assent to the proposition for an observance of perpetual peace and charity made in the presence of Richard, bishop of St Andrews, between Melrose Abbey and the church of Dunbar concerning the teinds of the granges of ‘Edmundston’ (ELO) and Hartside (ELO), contained in the chirograph, whereby Melrose Abbey shall pay 30s. yearly to the church of Dunbar and that the church of Dunbar should get nothing more than the above 30s. from the said monastery.
