Edward of Oldcambus has renounced and quitclaimed for ever, with the agreement of William his heir and of his other sons, that is, Ralph, Stephen, Patrick, and Edward, to God, and Saint Cuthbert and his monks at Durham, the villa of Oldcambus, with the mill, in return for their villa, that is, Greater Lumsdaine, which they have given to him and his heirs in exchange for the aforesaid villa of Oldcambus, and in return for 107 marks which they have discharged to the Lord William, King of Scotland, for his forfeit and the Lord King's amercement in which he was; and he and his said sons have sworn that they will warrant the said villa of Oldcambus to the said monks against all men.
