William le Waleys (Wallace) and Isabel, his wife, daughter and heir of Robert son of Fulbert of Stenton, have given, granted and by this their charter established to Melrose Abbey, for the souls of Walter son of Alan and Alan, his son, their lords, and for the souls of their fathers and mothers and for the salvation of Walter junior son of Alan and for the salvation of their souls, that part of their land of Stenton (ELO) which is near the land of the monks, by stated bounds, in free, pure and perpetual alms.
