Description (from People of Medieval Scotland)
David of Paxton has given to St Cuthbert and his monks of Coldingham in pure and perpetual alms, for the soul of his father, a half-ploughgate of land in the 'halhes of Jarford', that is, two oxgangs of land for growing corn, and another two oxgangs of land for livestock, and one toft, and one acre of land at the croft in the villa of Paxton. He and his heirs shall acquit the forinsec service, the said monks shall give him and his heirs yearly for a recognition of the said land one pound of pepper at Pentecost.
